Ordinary life in the region is often overshadowed by the powerhouse of
federal Washington. When we're focused on the horrors of war or the
passions of politics, we might miss the unsung heroes, simple pleasures
and unique events that make up our corner of the country. This occasional feature is titled American Shots.
Healing Horses and People
Great and Small provides a gentle home for horses whose futures are uncertain because of age or infirmity. These animals may no longer be great athletes, but are still magic when paired with riders who benefit from the sense of comfort and connection the horses can provide.
